I’m really hoping that improved, updated and comprehensive directions matched with improved software packages puts the advantages back to a macOS setup as is typical of so many macOS packages. Actually doing a fresh install on a Windows machine to set up a working remote digital station is a dawdle when contrasted to the present state of the art getting going on macOS. I am very certain that the present smattering of scattered incomplete and out of date directions would not help the average iMac user get things running. I’m sure given enough dedicated time I could get things closer to working or maybe just be out another couple hours. At this moment, I want to enjoy using the software in the CQ-WW-WPX-SSB contest a little more. So the solution well its not a solution to be fair. It’s a combination of all the elements tethered together that makes the experience unusable. Its not the fault of HRD, nor is it the fault of the Virtual Machine, The RS-232 - USB connectors. The next video on MacLoggerDX will show more of the dxclusters setup, alarms, map, etc. HRD over a Virtual Machine, using RS-232 connectors is unpredictable, slow and frankly unusable. From there you can setup the radio and get it working. Couldn’t get xDAX or xCAT to function, most likely as some of the complicated installation steps are not consistent in later versions of macOS. K6UDA reviews MacLoggerDX MacHamRadio Logging, MacLoggerDX, OS X, Rig Control 0 Comments Bob,K6UDA has posted a video review of MacloggerDX logging software and rig control for the Mac platform on his weekly ham radio video show. Once in the program go to MacLoggerDX>Preferences>Radio. Current versions of SoundSiphon have a revamped GUI and have apparently renamed the Virtual Output while dropped direct access to the output side. Some of the recommended software to handle the audio and control side is sketchy. Have needed to use SmartSDR for iOS to force disconnection of the remote 6700 left “in use” but nonfunctional working with dogparkSDR as I’ve not found the same level of SmartLink connection management available in dogparkSDR. I’ve been unable to transition from dogparkSDR that was running at the old QTH on a LAN to remote using SmartLink over the net.
