After setting up your desired keybindings, you must save the lens to prevent your settings being lost. The previous post identifying lens settings as a hindrance to storing settings is absolutely on point. Using the Global menu has resolved this problem. I've found that occasionally when using the Sonar settings, the ShuttlePro doesn't respond with consistency. Since I only use the ShuttlePro for Sonar, I've programmed it using the Global settings, not the Sonar ones. The wealth of buttons on the ShuttlePro gives you many options for triggering keybindings. Other buttons center the now time in the screen and perform a reset (this is necessary in case of stuck MIDI notes). I've programmed the buttons to activate the transport in addition to jumping forward or back to markers and jump forward or back one measure. My gigs frequently employ Sonar to play files and the ShuttlePro enables me to have great control over the playback. There is a plugin for this, but on the SDRuno plugins page, they say it only works with Plugins version 1. As I own Contour Shuttle PRO v2 I would like to use it for tuning. It developed a lot since I used it for the last time and I see that plugins are now supported. I've been using a ShuttlePro for many years and wouldn't be without it. Before it arrives, I had a look on the SDRuno software. (Maybe these are all possible settings?). Any more tips on using it? One of my initial reasons for it, I wanted to at least have buttons for transport control functions, mostly separate buttons for stop/rwd and pause/continue, rather than one or the other space bar, or ctrl or shift spacebar function, dependant on preference setting, but never seemed to get programmed properly I would have also liked to be to be able to set a button to switch jog wheel function between move along timeline and zoom timeline in/out. I hadn't really heard of anyone using this, I have one also and Thanks for that tip maybe Ill have to revisit it. I also had issues to retain settings and/or not too savvy and/or impatient setting it up, and more or less abandoned it, but I still use the jog wheel occasionally to move cursor in time line, seems to retain that function, and still have it listed in the ACT preferences. You can achive some very useful "muscle memory" (really it's not though) flows on even the simplest multi-button mouse, let alone something as cool as the Contour kit.Klaus BTW, I too use a Contour Shuttle Pro 2 for several years now and would buy it again in a second. Even if Contour drops support for it, though, I did find a note that they're willing to offer their SDK for interfacing with the Shuttle directly (bypassing the software), so perhaps someone could write their own open-source driver.Įither way, for $60, I think it's a good deal.Ī handy tip is to map stuff like Cmd and Shift etc that tend to have relatively consistent functions across related apps and the OS. I don't yet know if it'll work on an Apple Silicon machine, and the support section of their site doesn't say. The software does need to install a driver, but it's a proper system (not kernel) extension. It took me only a couple of minutes to set up how I wanted the wheels and buttons to work. There are a lot of presets included for various creative apps, and you can customize each however you want. I figured you'd just program the wheels/buttons to work globally, but instead the software lets you configure how the Xpress works on a per-app basis. Contour ShuttlePro V2 108 +3 Hardware controller for audio and video programs 15 programmable buttons Jog / shuttle wheel For practically all standard applications, ready-to-use and immediately usable key assignments are included Can be easily and quickly adapt to your needs Compatible with Mac OS 8.6 through 10. The software is a *lot* more intelligent than I had thought. The inner part has a notchy feel (which I can live with I wish it had been weighted and freewheeled instead). The outer part is spring-loaded so it self-centers and has a rubbery grip. I just installed it and it seems comfortable. 5 If the ShuttlePro was larger and had the buttons in better places, would it be something people would want to buy Schnoidz 339 6 It arrived today from an Amazon seller (75). No such luck on Windows the shuttle has no preset for Pro Tools, so I'm going to have to create my own settings from scratch. The Shuttlepro v2 can be found for around 75. On Mac, my Contour Shuttle recognizes Pro Tools and has built-in settings. I've also recently started using Pro Tools on Windows 10. What I didn't realize is that the wheel in the middle is actually split between the inner part, which spins, and the outer part, which can only turn about 30 degrees each way. Anyone have Contour Shuttle settings for Windows 10 I use a Contour Shuttle for editing. Nice heavy base, and while the USB cable is permanently attached, it's plenty long.
